When it comes to ranges, it is most recommended to go short on the upper side of the range and long on the lower side.
Breakout
A breakout occurs when prices move outside the boundaries of the range. They often re-enter the range, so I wouldn’t recommend breakout trading. The only way to trade a breakout would be if prices retest the boundary of the range from the outside.
I wouldn’t recommend trading a breakout. When prices leave the boundaries of the range, they often come back into the range (similar to going beyond).
